Calculating the Costs of the PLTW® Program

The following is a break down of equipment and materials costs for each of the PLTW® courses based on estimates. These estimates are based on several assumptions that may not be true for your school:

• Furniture costs are based on a "bare walls" lab
• The prices are based on 26 students per class
• Computers are included in the equipment cost column
• Consumable prices are based on class sizes of 26 and must be multiplied by the number of sections taught
• Resource materials, such as textbooks, laboratory manuals, instruction software, etc., are not included in the below prices
• All Fischertechnik items are included under the equipment costs
